Inspectors ensure the hose is correctly wound and free of obstructions, and they test its functionality by briefly releasing water. Pressure tests may also be performed to confirm that the hose reel can effectively deliver water in the event of a fire.
Testing and tagging of electrical equipment involves a comprehensive examination of various devices and appliances. This process typically includes inspecting power cords, plugs,and connections for visible damage, wear or exposed wiring. Electrical insulation is assessed to ensure it can withstand normal wear and tear. Equipment undergoes electrical testing, measuring factors such as earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity. Following this assessment, each item is appropriately tagged, displaying its testing date, the inspector's name and a pass or fail status.
